WHY FUND-RAISE FOR MELANOMA PATIENTS AUSTRALIA

RIP Thomas Henry Moore
(15/1/1923 – 18/11/2010)
I lost my Dad Tom Moore (pictured right) to melanoma in November 2010. Chris and I also have a niece battling the disease.
We have therefore decided to use my involvement in the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race to fund-raise to help people with melanoma.
The race is 40,000 nautical miles long, so we've set a target of AUS$40,000. That's one dollar per nautical mile!

The money raised will go to Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) who are a unique not-for-profit organisation. They provide a national network of support and information to people diagnosed with melanoma and their families. Having gone down the melanoma treatment path ourselves, we can see the value of an organisation like MPA who provide a whole range of support, in a time of need.
We have set up a fund-raising page on the Everyday Hero website so donations can be managed on-line (and tax receipts issued). My friend and former colleague Jan Dennis from Marketing & More has done an amazing job getting all this organised for me.
To donate, simply go to http://www.everydayhero.com.au/barry_moore - it only takes a minute and everything you need to know is right there on the page.
Tax receipts are emailed or printed out easily.
I'll be posting updates on how we are going in terms of reaching the target. Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Barry Moore
